Support our work
We are not accepting donations yet. Nevada law requires a charity to register with the Secretary of State before it asks for contributions, and we will not ask until we have. We also will not describe any gift as tax deductible until the IRS recognizes our 501(c)(3) status.
What happens before we ask for support
- Our Articles of Incorporation are filed with the Nevada Secretary of State.
- Our Board adopts bylaws, a conflict-of-interest policy, and financial controls.
- We register to solicit charitable contributions in Nevada.
- We apply to the IRS for recognition of 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
When we do accept gifts
Every request for support will state our full legal name, our purpose, how to reach us, and whether a gift may be tax deductible. For any single gift of $250 or more, we will send a written acknowledgment. If a gift over $75 is partly in exchange for goods or services, such as an event ticket, we will tell you how much of it may be deductible.
Restricted gifts will be used only for the purpose you choose.
